Oceanside’s Master Plan for the Arts
A Cultural Plan for the City
In 2017, the Oceanside's Arts Commission undertook the process of creating Oceanside's first Master Plan for the Arts. This plan encompasses all artistic disciplines (visual, performing, literary, digital, design, etc. as well as popular, folk/ethnic, and cultural arts).
Arts and culture are among a community's greatest assets. They distinguish that community and also serve as a competitive tool, strengthening many elements of civic life, including the economy, workforce development, education, youth development, neighborhood development, sustainability and cultural equity.
Cultural planning-another term for arts master planning-is a primary tool for organizing the best use of this critical asset. On February 6, 2019, the Oceanside City Council unanimously approved the O'Arts Master Plan.
