The Library is once again accepting book donations.
The Friends of the Oceanside Public Library are delighted to announce that they are once again able to accept donations of books, magazines, DVDs and CDs.
Smaller donations can be taken to the Mission Branch Library (as space allows), or to the Civic Center Library’s circulation desk in the atrium. Larger donations can be taken to the Civic Center Library loading dock on Civic Center Drive Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donors may park in the loading dock area and ring the doorbell for assistance. Donations of more than eight boxes or bags are by appointment only; please ask a Library staff member for information.
Even if we can't add your donated items for our circulating collection, the Friends of the Library will sell it online or at one of their book stores. The Friends raise over $100,000 for the library annually, so your donations count a great deal!
If you require a receipt for tax purposes, we’ll be happy to issue you one.
The Oceanside Public Library also offers a Gift Book Program. This Program is a way to memorialize or honor family or friends, celebrate major holidays or life events, and recognize organizations. For each monetary gift received, Oceanside Public Library staff will purchase books from suggested subject areas. An acknowledgement letter will be sent to those specified, and a bookplate will be placed inside each book indicating that it is a gift In Memory, or In Honor, of the designated person or organization. If you would like to participate in the Gift Book Program, please download this form and bring it to the Library Administration Office. For questions, please call Cheri Noel at 760-435-5564.
