Free summer lunch at Oceanside Public Library!
During the summer, Oceanside Public Library and the California State Library bring free meals and enrichment activities daily for youth ages 0 to 18. Check back next summer for more information about Lunch at the Library.
Take home a box of fresh produce each week at the library until August 29th!
Oceanside Public Library is excited to partner with +Box to provide families with free boxes of fresh produce. Every Thursday, families can take home +Box filled with food at any of our participating locations, while supplies last.

The Department of Housing and Neighborhood Services and the Department of Parks and Recreation also hosts food distributions at community and recreation centers throughout the city. Additional Community Resources
- Feeding San Diego is a leading nonprofit that distributes free meals to children, families, seniors, college students, military families, veterans and people facing homelessness. In addition, they also offer assistance in applying for CalFresh.
- The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank offers nutritious food to those in need, champions the cause of the hungry, and raises awareness about issues of hunger. Visit their website to use the free food locator map tool to find food distribution locations across San Diego County.
- WIC offers breastfeeding support, offers nutrition advice, and provides financial help for healthy foods to mothers who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and for children from birth to age 5.
Cal Fresh, also referred as "SNAP" or food stamps, provides monthly funds in the form of a debit card to families and individuals to purchase food at grocery stores and farmers markets. CalFresh is also open to people with a qualified immigration status.
- Sun Bucks, also known as "Summer EBT", is an expansion of CalFresh that provides families with school-aged children with $40 a month to purchase food during the summer. Children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals, CalFresh, CalWorks, or Medi-Cal are automatically enrolled.
- 2-1-1 Food Assistance is your go-to resource for finding free food. They can tell you about CalFresh, WIC, food banks in your area, and places that give food quickly when you need it. For immediate assistance, call 2-1-1.
