Volunteers make a difference!

Just a few hours a week at the library can help enrich your neighbors and your community.
Here are just a few of the ways you can help:

  • Assist with children's and adult programs
  • Help adults increase their literacy skills
  • Help children and teens with homework
  • Assist Library patrons on computers and with digital devices
  • Work with the Friends of the Library at the book stores, or with special events and other fundraising efforts
  • Share your specialized expertise in specific areas
  • Help manage the Library collection

All adult volunteer positions require a minimum 6 months commitment.  Training will be provided.  Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Cheri Noel at (760) 435-5564 to find out more about adult volunteer opportunities.

Teens can earn volunteer hours!

Are you a teen between the ages of 14-17, and looking to volunteer at the Library?  Check out our Teen Partner page for teen volunteer opportunities or email Erin at enakasone@oceansideca.org.

All Oceanside Public Library volunteers must complete a fingerprint and background check process before beginning to volunteer.  The Library cannot accommodate court-ordered community service assignments per City policy.
